1. Our Approach

Linkyards is a place for people to share, talk and connect. These guidelines keep it safe and respectful for everyone. They apply to everything you post, including text, images, video, polls, replies and messages, and to your profile and behaviour on the platform.

These guidelines work together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Child Safety Policy.

2. What Is Not Allowed

2.1 Child Safety

Content that sexualises, exploits or endangers children is never allowed and is reported to the authorities. See our Child Safety Policy.

2.2 Illegal Content

  • Content that breaks Indian law or promotes illegal activity
  • Sale or promotion of illegal goods and services
  • Content that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights

2.3 Hate and Harassment

  • Hate speech or attacks on people because of religion, caste, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar traits
  • Bullying, threats, intimidation or targeted harassment
  • Sharing someone's private information without their consent

2.4 Violence and Harmful Content

  • Threats of violence, or content that glorifies violence or terrorism
  • Content that encourages self-harm
  • Graphic violence shared to shock or disturb

2.5 Sexual and Adult Content

  • Sexually explicit content and non-consensual intimate imagery

2.6 Spam, Scams and Impersonation

  • Spam, fake engagement and misleading links
  • Scams, fraud and phishing
  • Pretending to be another person or organisation

3. Reporting

If you see something that breaks these guidelines, report it from the menu on a post or a profile and choose the reason that fits best. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team. You do not need to be the first or the only person to report something, and the person you report is never told who reported them.

4. How We Enforce These Guidelines

A moderator reviews reported content and chooses the action that fits the situation.

4.1 Actions on Posts

  • Shadow: the post stays on the author's profile and can be opened from a direct link, but it no longer appears in feeds, search, trending or suggestions.
  • Review: the post is temporarily hidden and replaced by a notice while we look at it more closely.
  • Block: the post is hidden for violating these guidelines. The author sees the decision and can appeal it.
  • Remove: the post is removed for a serious violation.

4.2 Actions on Accounts

  • Withheld: the account becomes read-only. The owner can still read the app, open Appeals and sign out, but cannot post, reply, like, follow or send messages. The account's posts are hidden from other people.
  • Temporary suspension: the account is restricted for a set period. The owner can only see the suspension notice and use Appeals. The restriction lifts automatically when the period ends.
  • Permanent suspension: the account is suspended without an end date. The profile and posts are no longer visible to other people.

4.3 What You Will See

When we act on your content or account, you receive an in-app notification and a push notification that explain what happened and why. Where an appeal is possible, the notification takes you straight to it.

5. Appeals

5.1 What You Can Appeal

  • Posts that have been blocked
  • Withheld accounts, temporary suspensions and permanent suspensions

5.2 How to Appeal

  • Open Settings → Help & Support → Appeals
  • Choose the decision and write a statement explaining why you think it is wrong
  • Attach images or videos if they help to explain your case

Suspended accounts can open Appeals directly from the account notice.

5.3 What Happens Next

  • Each decision can be appealed once. A new decision on your account or content opens a new appeal.
  • You have 30 days from the decision to appeal.
  • Appeals are reviewed within 48 hours.
  • A reviewer may ask you for more information. You reply in the same appeal conversation.
  • If the appeal is accepted, the post or account is restored. Otherwise you receive the reviewer's explanation.

6. Repeat and Serious Violations

Accounts that repeatedly break these guidelines, or that commit a serious violation, may be suspended or permanently removed without prior warning. Content involving child safety, credible threats of violence or other illegal activity may be reported to the relevant authorities, as described in our Child Safety Policy.
